The International Academic Cooperation Council of UMA convened to hold its first session after the members are appointed by the chancellor of the university.
The council debated the agenda forwarded by the International Relations Office including the scope of international cooperation in student and faculty exchange, joint seminars and workshops, and admission policies. Deciding about the target countries and universities for cooperation, range of support for visiting scholars and students, and also the measures to promote university’s web ranking were among the examined hot topics. As announced by Dr. Reza Abdi, the head of International Relations Office, UMA’s faculty members will be able to accept visiting scholar and student applications upon the council’s approval. When approved, the visiting scholars and students will be provided with some support to abate the basically low cost of stay.
