University of Mohaghegh Ardabili and the University of Rome (Sapienza) agree to collaborate

University of Mohaghegh Ardabili and the University of Rome (Sapienza) will collaborate.

In a meeting between the officials of the two universities in Rome, the parties agreed and welcomed collaboration in the areas of interest between the two universities.

The meeting organized by the ceremonial office of the University of Rome and International Relations office of the University of Mohaghegh Ardabili took place on Monday, the 2nd of November, in the Rectoriate Building of the University of Rome.

Dr. Goudarz Sadeghi, the Chancellor of the University of Mohaghegh Ardabili, briefly introduced UMA and counted potential areas of collaboration.

Dr. Reza Abdi, Head of International Relations Office at UMA, also underlined the special facilities procured by an agreement recently signed by the ministers’ of higher education of Iran and Italy.

It should be noted that Sapienza University, which was founded in 1303, is one of the oldest universities in the world and a top performer in international university rankings.

More than 115,000 students enrolled at Sapienza can choose from over 250 degree programs (Bachelors, Masters and PhDs) and 200 specialization courses, while the “Scuola Superiore di Studi Avanzati” runs honors programs and free tuition for its best students.

Sapienza has 11 Faculties, 63 Departments and various research centers that drive high levels of excellence in archaeology, physics and astrophysics, as well as humanities and cultural heritage, environmental studies, nano-technology, cellular and gene therapy, design and aerospace.

Sapienza is present in all major international university rankings. It is among the best Italian universities and one of the top 300 universities in the world.

According to the latest Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), Sapienza is ranked first amongst Italian universities and 152nd globally. In particular, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science and Information & Communication Technology were ranked amongst the top subjects taught at Sapienza.

U.S. News and World Report – Global Universities Rankings also ranks Sapienza as the best university in Italy and 139th globally.

Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) ranked Sapienza 202nd in 2014, the second Italian university behind Bologna and 23rd worldwide for Physics. 


Finally, The Times Higher Education ranking in collaboration with Thomson-Reuters placed Sapienza in the 301-350 group of universities.
